YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

  

Volunteers who recognize the importance of having access to affordable professional counseling have proven to be the backbone of Access Counseling since we were founded in 1992. Caring volunteers who want to make a difference in people’s lives are needed to manage the receptionist desk and waiting room on Wednesdays. Two shifts are available. The morning shift is from 10:15 to 1:30 and the afternoon shift is from 1:30 to 4:15.   Volunteers should be willing to commit to one or two shifts per month. You can work a morning shift one month and opt for an afternoon shift the following month. It is your choice.


Duties include answering the phones, scheduling appointments, making reminder calls to clients, setting up files for new clients, greeting the clients upon their arrival and collecting their fees, and most importantly, making them feel comfortable with their decision to seek counseling by answering their questions and putting them at ease. 

 

While computer experience is helpful, it is not necessary as an experienced volunteer will work closely with you until you feel comfortable utilizing the Google Calendar and taking credit card payments.. All you need is a compassionate heart and the desire to help others.
